Meet our Pastor

Over 8 years ago Carl and Bek connected in a Gospel conversation and felt an immediate connection. They’ve been married since 2012 and have three beautiful boys, Jack, Tommy and Archie. They have a passion to see people experience the love of Christ through genuine Christian community founded upon the word of God.

Bek loves working with children and has spent over 15 years teaching primary school PE. She also has a real gifting in art and home renovations.

Carl has worked in the social work / youth work arena since 2002 in both faith-based and secular environments. He has acquired a Bachelor of Applied Social Sciences (Youth Work), a Master of Social Work, and is currently completing a Master of Ministry. He lacks any genuine gifting in art or home renovations and has the singing voice of a lamenting crow.

Carl and Bek both share a conviction in the Gospel, church planting, and it’s their joy to be a part of what God is doing in the eastern suburbs of Adelaide.

The Gospel

Gospel at the Centre

We believe that the gospel is the good news of what God has accomplished for sinners through the life, death, and resurrection of his Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. This great accomplishment includes our forgiveness from sin and complete justification before God. We are no longer bound for hell but rather included in His heavenly family.

This Gospel is not only the means by which people are saved, but also the truth and power by which people are sanctified. It is the truth of the Gospel that enables us to genuinely and joyfully do what is pleasing to God and to grow in progressive conformity to the image of Christ.

The salvation offered in this gospel message is received by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone; no ordinance, ritual, work, or any other activity on the part of man is required in order to be saved.

Core Convictions

Gospel Centrality – This Gospel is not only the means by which people are saved, but also the truth and power by which people are sanctified

Sovereignty in Salvation – We affirm that God chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world, not on the basis of foreseen faith but unconditionally, according to his sovereign good pleasure and will.

The Work of the Holy Spirit – The Holy Spirit is fully God, equal with the Father and Son, whose primary ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ; he also convicts unbelievers of their need for Christ and imparts spiritual life through regeneration (the new birth).

Men and Women are Equal Yet Different – We believe that men and women are both equally saved and equally called to participate in ministry. We also believe that men and women have been created to complement one another, which scripture teaches involves a distinction of roles. For example, we believe that the role of Elder is to be fulfilled by godly men who fulfil the necessary qualifications laid out in Titus 1:5-9, 1 Tim. 3:1-7 and 1 Peter 5:1-4. We also believe that the role of preaching to the gathered church is set aside for godly men as commanded in 1 Tim 2:12-14.

The Primacy of Gospel Mission – The church has a clear biblical mandate to look beyond its own community to the neighbourhood, the nation, and the world as a whole; therefore mission is not an optional program in the church but an essential element in the identity of the church.
